Just like every other person has heard about TVTropes, I eventually found out about the tropes surrounding the imageboards, like 4chan, 7ch, 2chan, you name it.
This, for better or for worse, amused me.
I mean, seriously, since when did humanity managed to create a hivemind on its own? Is it the true anonymity? That strange freedom someone has to post there without being detected? Because they can screw over people? Hell if I know what reason people have to do it, but I don't care.
As it's best, it's just a den of people with free time to talk about anime, games and other kinds of shit (including topics NSFW). At it's worst...it could become a free nation on it's own that may devours us all.
No, seriously.
And that brings us to Anonymous.

"That's it. Where's our goddamn flamethrowers?"
Anonymous can and IS a force of its own (and in real life). According to the Other Wiki, this group is responsible for several global protests against The Church of Scientology (which I really find stupid, by the way), YMMV on how badass they were or not, but to think that humans can be trully fearsome when working on groups...terrifies me. And to think that variable assholes like them can join up to do stuff while some governments still cannot get themselves to agree with each other. It's messed up, man.
To think Project Chanology was born because they deleted just one video on Youtube. Guys, I know you feel that freedom of speech is important, but COME ON! Also, these guys (according to rumors an other unspecified data) may be responsible for the PSNetwork recent outage...which gave us free 30 days of PSN+ and free games for PS3 and PSP...
Sometimes, I wonder if they are smiling while petting a giant cat, praising their own success...
Where was I? Oh yeah...
Anonymous is...well...kinda untracable. In fact, Anonymous cannot know who is also Anonymous, unless they are wearing some sort of distinctive clothing or marker, the most common that I've seen is the Guy Fawkes' mask from V from Vendetta (very interesting movie). Apart from that...nobody knows other people's true name or face, which it's kind of sad...oh wait, that the same as using a laptop. Aw crap...
And if 4chan is Chaos, then Something Awful is Law...somehow.

For those who don't know Something Awful, here's a simple overview. Something Awful...can be considered the father of 4chan, even if those there doesn't want to admit it or SA refuses to admit it orginated this legion of trolls and, rarely, quite smart people. SA is a message board that focuses on satire and really good comedy, the one sees on Deadpool. However, unlike 4chan, there's a catch. You have to pay your admision ($10, not too shabby) and even more to unlock special features. So...yeah, SA is like a game in which DLC is necessary. Cripes. This characteristic of SA is the only that limits the troll population among the goons, along with the moderators, which apparently are non existing on 4chan. Yep, definitely Law.
And in this controlled hivemind, several memes and LP emerged...And from those LP, Retsupurae was born, delivering snark like roasted hams out of Code Geass. Along with Slendy...which I hope isn't reading this blog.
Now, I know what you people may say "But Heraklinios, you shouldn't have done that! You'll create a flame war which will use the flames of Hell itself!". If that's the case, I'll say "Meh." Besides, don't I get the right to say something that I wish to talk about? Is that so bad? ...Why am I using so many questions if I know nobody will answer? Hell if I know, but it entertains me. Sorta.
Now, don't take wrong for the next words I'm about to say but...wouldn't it be easier for both boards to, I don't know, be one board?

If you like cats, extreme paranormal terror and comedy (/x/, but you can always join the SCP), really out of hand NSFW material and the free right to be an asshole(Jesus Christ, /b/), check 4chan out. (*shudder*)
If you like snarkiness at its best, LPs, a much more ordered forum with less profanity, but with a pay, check Something Awful.
HOWEVER, DO NOT, and I mean, DO NOT mention 4chan on Something Awful or viceversa. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!
...
...
...Wait.
